PriceScout app showing thrift item valuation

What is PriceScout?

The pricing brain in your pocket — for any item, no barcode required.

PriceScout identifies clothing, furniture, home goods, electronics, vintage finds — anything you point your phone at. The vision model picks out brand, model, era, material. The price engine pulls real sold-listing data and gives you the median. No tag-reading, no Googling at the register.

Thrifters

Spot hidden gems. Stop overpaying for items that won’t flip.

Collectors

Build a digital archive of your finds with accurate pricing attached.

Resellers

Maximize margin. Know what an item’s worth before it leaves the store.

Bargain Lovers

How does PriceScout work?

Three steps. About ten seconds at the register.

PriceScout mobile scan flow
1

Step 1: Open the scanner

Open PriceScout in your phone's browser. No App Store install, no account needed for the first scan. Allow camera access and you're in.

2

Step 2: Snap the photo

Snap any item. The vision model works on clothing, electronics, collectibles, decor, books — no barcode required. If a UPC or ISBN is visible, it’s read on-camera as a free instant fast-path.

3

Step 3: Get the verdict

The app identifies the item and pulls live sold-comps. You see the median resale price, your estimated net after eBay fees and shipping, and a clear buy / maybe / skip verdict in seconds.

Why use a flip scanner?

Forget the back-of-envelope math and Google searches in the aisle. PriceScout delivers pricing confidence in seconds.

Built for curious thrifters of every experience level — from once-a-month browsers to full-time resellers running 100 listings. Every scan gives you:

Instant verdicts

Sub-second reads. Cached comps and on-device barcode mean most scans return faster than the cashier can ring up.

Real sold-listing data

Backed by thousands of sold listings, not wishful active prices. See what similar items actually closed for.

Honest about what it can’t see

When confidence is low, the verdict shows it. No fake precision — you decide when to trust it.

FAQ

Everything you need to know about PriceScout.

If you want to point your phone at any thrift-store item and instantly know what it sells for online, PriceScout is built for exactly that. Visual identification first, on-camera barcode read when one's visible, manual search as a fallback. No app store install, no account required to try it.
Yes — PriceScout tells you. Image recognition identifies the item, then the price engine pulls live sold-listing data from eBay (and Keepa for branded inventory). You get the median sold price, your estimated net after fees and shipping, and a buy / skip / maybe verdict.
Sold-comp median is the honest answer. Active listings are wishful thinking; what already sold is data. PriceScout takes recent sold listings, computes the median, subtracts marketplace fees and shipping, and compares to your cost basis. The buy/skip verdict falls out of that math.
No. PriceScout runs in your phone's browser. Open it, allow camera access, and you're scanning. Works the same on iPhone and Android. There's nothing to download and no app-store gatekeeper between you and a scan.
There's a Pro Monthly tier at $49/mo and a Pro Annual at $490/yr (saves ~17%). The Founders Lifetime tier is $699 once — capped at the first 100 customers. After 100 sell, the lifetime tier is gone.
Yes. eBay sold-comp data is strongest in the US, where most of the resale market is concentrated. The app works internationally; comp accuracy varies by region.
